Blizzard says Heroes of the Storm Is "Much More akin to a World of Warcraft Experience"
The Blizzard game Heroes of the Storm may have some similarities to the real-time strategy game Starcraft II, but director Dustin Browder has described the game's experience as more in line with that similar to World of Warcraft buy WoTLK Gold.
Although most online multiplayer battle arena games use the same layouts for their maps, Browder spoke to P2Pah stated that Blizzard took a different strategy in Heroes of the Storm. Browder described each battlefield as "its distinct experience that is very similar to an actual World of Warcraft experience as contrast to a Starcraft experience. We're really trying to do something that is different enough to draw our own viewers."
Like other games of this genre, smaller, one-on-one battles can occur prior to larger group-wide battles.
Browder was able to clarify why Blizzard has decided to name Heroes of the Storm a brawler type game, rather than an MOBA and said "one of the things we wanted to emphasise in the game was that it was full of action. We felt like it captured the essence of what we're trying develop, a sport where you can join with your group of friends and compete with enemy heroes."
Browder said that the name "action real-time strategy" was also a possibility, which is what Valve refers to its free-to-play game Dota 2. "We would like to tweak the name and label it a fast action real-time strategy," he said.
Heroes of the Storm is currently in limited technical alpha, with no date for release yet to be confirmed. The game has individuals from The World of Warcraft buy WoW WoTLK Classic Gold, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft universes. Watch the rest of this interview interview of Dustin Browder below.
