The Patriots haven't had a win in a playoff game for nearly four years which is, for New England, seems like a lifetime Madden 23 Coins. The Patriots are definitely an elite team13 wins, one of the most talented quarterbacks of all time and the no. 3 offense. They can do many things right, and there aren't many teams (lookin at you, Denver) which can be competitive offensively.
However, their defense is a concern. It's not all doom-and-gloom as you might think with what they're saying in New England about the number of yards the Patriots defense surrendersthe defense is 15th in scoring which is the more important number -- but they'll have to prove that their defense can rise to the occasion when the offense gets into these defenses, such as for instance the Broncos, Ravens or Texans.
The No. 2 seed is right down here at No. 5 in our Madden NFL 23 Power Rankings for the playoffs. This seems unbalanced. Look at the teams that rank ahead of them and decide the teams that should drop. Ravens? Patriots? Yes, but those teams have played in playoffs before.
They've been here before, and they're well-aware of what playoffs are all about. I'm not going to knock the 49ers as they're somewhat of a mystery now. Perhaps they will dominate in the Saints in the coming weekend, and then prove us wrong, but until they prove to me they can compete on the level they are, I'll not rank them higher than some of these other teams.
I'm a big fan of what the Giants are doing at the moment. It all seems so similar to the time four years ago, when the Giants went on a playoff and won the Super Bowl Buy Mut 23 Coins. They're a well-established team. Their defensive line is strong and can make life hell for the quarterback who is in opposition.
