For me it was down to Ghost and Hades

Additionally, I probably wouldn't have watched the Animal Crossing Nook Miles Ticket music video if so many folks wouldn't have made such a huge deal about it. These are the same sorts of people who'd the parental advisory sticker put on records and taken at the sales through the roof.

I had an aunt (and uncle but it was mostly my aunt) who had been dead set against letting her kids read or watch anything that was fantasy at all. And it blows my mind they are in their twenties and know absolutely nothing about Harry Potter. It may also signify that Supergiant is a studio that is smaller, so just don't have the tools to concentrate on more than PC/Mac and a console at a time. I would be willing to bet that Sony helped deliver the first three matches to his or her platform, and it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo assisted on Hades - the quantity of effort Nintendo has spent pushing the match is a symptom of that. Whether that contains exclusivity deals, can not say.

Basically it seems they select whichever is the most popular console in the time for the initial release. It probably requires a lot of development tools for a small team to support each new SKU, and realistically, how a lot of people out there are considering indie games but don't have a PC, Mac or Switch to play them on? Probably not enough to make the other ports a big priority.

Whether they have the ability to reuse a lot of the switch/PC cross-save work and use it to additional consoles or if they must learn how it works for each console and application it differently could severely impact the work needed for vents. My guess is that they would only do xbox/PC and PS5/PC cross-saves, and not something like switch/xbox such as. However, if they did want to introduce console-to-console cross-saves, then that's even more function.

For me it was down to Ghost and Hades until I realized Ghost is simply decade old game layout and mechanics just with almost perfect implementation; while Hades derives design and mechanics from much broader and"niche" concepts and implements them all in a means that had not been done until

I've played those old turned established roguelikes and hs games for decades, Hades might be a hybrid but to me it doesn't feel like because it uses so many other seemingly random things such as visual novel/relationships gameplay, resource management for creating up the hallways, only a very few weapons, and it relies on fresh rogue like mechanics (buffs, curses, development, etc.) who have only been popularized recently with Animal Crossing Items For Sale things like Slay the spire
