Oddly, they don’t give you XP for your character, but that doesn’t make them any less important. If anything, they’re the best route to snagging solid gear, unlocking upgrades, and adding some nice personal touches to your loadout. Done right, they shape your whole run and give you the kind of rewards that really stick—at least until you hit that next ARC Raiders BluePrint reset.
Speaking of resets, here’s the part that catches a lot of people off guard. Head out on an Expedition—basically a full account wipe—and you’re starting over from scratch. No kit, no upgrades, and yep, all that quest progress gets cleared. Every run means climbing the same ladder of missions again from nothing. That loop is baked into the game, so it’s worth knowing before you commit too hard to one run. Treat each attempt as a fresh campaign, because the grind isn’t going anywhere.
That grind can be brutal if you don’t play smart. Just chasing quests as they drop is a fast way to waste time. Instead, group them by where they happen. Pull up the map, mark the ones sitting close together, and you’ll be knocking out multiple tasks in one trip without doubling back every five minutes. And don’t forget to prioritise—grab the ones that’ll give you the biggest boost to your build first. Maybe it’s a killer weapon, maybe a mod that changes the way you fight, maybe survival gear that keeps you alive longer. Either way, get that advantage early and the rest feels way less painful.
You’ll notice a few mission types popping up all the time. Scavenger Hunts will send you into tall structures or complex spaces to find hidden parts—watch for clues in the environment and climb everything you can. ARC Assaults test your skill in pure combat, throwing waves of enemies into cramped areas where crowd control and picking the right weapon matter more than anything. Then there are Puzzle Objectives, usually fiddling with panels, switches, or relays in the right order. Slow down before you start flipping switches—half the challenge is spotting the pattern. Recognising what you’re walking into means you can prep the right kit, both in gear and mindset, before the fight even starts. That way each mission feels less like a wall and more like a step toward the next BluePrint.
