Controlling the cutting process When cutting sheet material, one of two cutting modes is used: straight cutting or contour cutting mode. Contour cutting mode uses a straight cut, which can be used to produce a high-precision cut. Contour cutting uses straight cutting, after which the edges of the sheet will be slightly uneven.
