The update comes in the format of tweets

It's a significant change for it, yet it could make Diablo: Resurrected go a considerable distance towards being more contemporary while remaining faithful to  many of Diablo's other unique idiosyncrasies. Other changes coming with D2R Ladder Items patch 2.3 include an offline mode for console players, who will be able to play the game with a higher difficulty in the event that up to eight additional players were in the game. Diablo's next update will also provide a range of audio, visual, and UI enhancements.


The announcement by Blizzard of a PTR for Diablo: Resurrected seems to indicate that additional modifications and updates are in the pipeline. No word yet on when exactly the PTR will be made available, but Blizzard says that all players will be able participate. The first goal of the PTR will be fixing persistent server and database issues that have plagued the game since it's release. After that, Blizzard writes that they will "share additional details about Ladder rank play, and other new updates coming in Diablo: Resurrected."


Patch 2.3 is currently scheduled to release in early December. Also, in other news about Diablo, Diablo IV, which didn't have a release date it is expected to launch later than initially planned. This news is in the ongoing fallout of a variety of lawsuits and investigations into alleged sexual harassment and discrimination within Activision Blizzard.


With no BlizzCon (or BlizzConline) this year, fans of games such as World of Warcraft, Diablo and Diablo have been wondering when new announcements regarding the future of the games will be made. According to Blizzard director Mike Ybarra, updates on what's next for those franchises will be happening "over the next few weeks."


The update comes in the format of tweets, itself responding to a fan comment made on the news that Blizzard is hiring for the creation of a survival game within a new world.
