It was extremely difficult

You obviously desired World of Warcraft to be prosperous WoTLK Gold, but did you have any idea that it would become the top-selling game by Capcom's ever? Did you be surprised by its success?

I was confident of the game's quality, however the game's quality isn't the only way to ensure the game's success. After I witnessed gamers playing the game at events such as Gamescom or Tokyo Game Show, and when the beta test was conducted of the game on PlayStation 4 at the end of the year, I began to get a positive feeling about the chances of us doing very well. But, I must say I was still amazed at how fast the game went on sale in such a large number of copies!

While it's more accessible to players who are new than other games from the series, World of Warcraft still feels as if it's full of mystery that is waiting to be discovered. There's a wealth of information that is waiting to be found out through the game. What was the importance for you to keep some of the mystery for players who are new to the game? Was that a challenge to achieve balance?

It was extremely difficult. It is at the core of the game that is about discovery and exploration. You discover how to hunt monsters, and also get to the heart of the mystery within the narrative. The display of excessive amounts of either could be a snare to players from the excitement of exploring these things on their own as well as the feeling of fulfillment and growth they feel while playing. I also requested that players communicate this information with one another through multiplayer communication. Overall, I think we've struck a great balance as you can see it by the large number of players who upload and stream their best moments of gameplay and new discoveries. There is however an upper limit to the amount of information sharing players are able to carry out in multiplayer, causing players to possibly quit the game because they're not aware of enough. This WOW WoTLK Classic Gold is something I'd like to be aware of for the future, so that we can better prepare for it.
