With World of Warcraft Shadowlands finally here, you may be thinking about jumping into the MMORPG experience. Thankfully, with the new expansion, it’s never been a better time to get started. Once you are level 50, you are all set to head to the Shadowlands. 50-60 leveling is a questing over new zones in following order: Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald and Revendreth. Also there are a few ways to speed things along. Before leveling guide itself, here are some tips to speed up your leveling progress.

How to level in record time

Basically, fast leveling works the same as the usual. You travel to an area, accept quests there, and complete them by finishing the tasks given. Once you reach a certain level, your path will lead you to the next area.

You’ll do the whole speed-leveling thing just a bit more efficiently, by killing monsters and collecting items as efficiently as possible. However, it is important that you choose the right area and kill rare enemies.

Level 10-15: You start at level 10 using Chromie’s time-travel campaign in Warlords of Draenor.

Level 15-30: As a Horde player, move to the Silver Forest, which is located near Trisfal and Glineas. It is located in the northwestern area of the Eastern Kingdoms. As an Alliance player, Loch Modan offers a good alternative.

Level 30-40: East of the Silver Forest is the foothills of the Hill Country. Here you will spend the next ten levels. Again, if you’re an Alliance member, you’ll have to switch to the Dusk Forest or the Red Ridge Mountains.

Level 40-45: Now it’s back to Draenor. To be more precise, to Gorgond.

Level 45-48: For the next three levels, stay in Draenor, but quest in the spires of Arak.

Level 48-50: For the last two levels you will go to Kalimdor in the Stoneclaw Mountains.

Those who have dealt with the matter a bit know that other areas can also be quite promising. Especially if the currently selected quest area is populated by a lot of players and you have to share enemies and items with others.

Leveling From 10-50

For brand new players that just finished Exile's Reach, characters will be sent directly into the Battle for Azeroth expansion where they will level all the way from 10 to 50.

For everyone else, you have a few options for how to continue leveling after starting at/reaching level 10. If you prefer, you can continue to level just as you always have by visiting level-appropriate zones and playing through each expansion sequentially, albeit with an adjusted leveling curve for the new system. The new level requirements for each expansion are:

10-30 in either Vanilla, Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King

30-35 in Cataclysm

10-35 in Mists of Pandaria

10-40 in Warlord of Draenor

10-45 in Legion

10-50 in Battle for Azeroth

How Long Does it Take to Reach Level 60 in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands?

Based on early estimates gathered from Shadowlands‘ beta players (and a bit of data mining), it seems that Shadowlands will offer little resistance on your way to level 60.

Shadowlands features a universal leveling storyline for every first-time player. As long as you bounce from story quest to story quest in the expansion, you should complete the expansion in less than 10 hours. As always, that number will vary, but many veteran WoW players using the appropriate add-ons currently suspect that they’ll be able to go from 50-60 in as little as five or six hours.

If you’ve played through the Shadowlands story at least once, though, you’ll have the option of either replaying the expansion’s story with a new character or leveling up by completing world quests, side quests, dungeons, and other objectives.

While current estimates suggest that the fastest way to level through Shadowlands is to follow the campaign, it probably won’t be long before someone discovers an even faster leveling path involving world quests and dungeons.

At the moment, though, it seems the average veteran player will be able to go from 1-60 in about 15-25 hours with the proper assistance/knowledge. If you’re a new player, it might take closer to 35 hours to go from 1-60.
