U4GM PoE2 Currency: Why Sacrosanctum Recoup Matters

Fresh PoE2 0.5 breakdown: Sacrosanctum stats, Recoup value, Build Planner steps, Runes of Aldur crafting, Atlas updates, new Ascendancies, and the key gaps players should know.

Patch 0.5 has made Path of Exile 2 feel a bit less like a test build and a bit more like the game people were hoping to sink nights into. Return of the Ancients brings the Runes of Aldur league, a rebuilt Atlas, new Ascendancies, fresh crafting hooks, and the in-game Build Planner. If you're sorting gear, trading, or just trying to keep up with market swings, PoE2 Currency is already part of the daily chat around builds and upgrades.

Patch 0.5 feels like a bridge to 1.0

It's still Early Access, yeah, but the shape is clearer now. Players aren't just testing acts and skills anymore. They're planning endgame routes, chasing league rewards, and comparing Unique rolls like it actually matters long term. The renewed Infinite Atlas helps a lot here. Fixed points of interest mean you can aim for content instead of wandering and hoping. Masters of the Atlas add another layer, since you can swap them before opening zones. Small thing on paper. Big thing when you're farming after work and don't want wasted maps.

Build Planner is the real quality of life win

The Build Planner isn't a full simulator. Don't expect Path of Building math. It's more like a guided route inside the client.

To use it, download a.build file, place it in Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/BuildPlanner, then open the Skills tab in-game. From there, use the filter area, click the Build Planner icon, and pick the saved build. When it works, the passive tree highlights what you should take. Some files include notes too, though a lot of early creator exports still feel rough. Poe.ninja can export passives and skills, but items aren't included yet, so you'll still need the original build page for gear details.

Sacrosanctum is all about recoup

Sacrosanctum looks simple at first glance, then you read the last line and stop for a second.

Item DetailCurrent Player Take
BaseCorvus Mantle, hybrid Armour and Energy Shield.
Key roll10-20% Damage taken Recouped as Life.
Unique hookLife Recoup also applies to Energy Shield.

That 10-20% roll matters more than the item first lets on. Since the Energy Shield recovery copies the Life Recoup value, a high roll does double duty. Patch 0.4.0 pushed the old 5-10% range up to 10-20%, so older trade screenshots can be misleading. If a listing still shows 5-10%, treat it as stale info unless the game itself proves otherwise. Strength, Intelligence, Chaos Resistance, and Spirit are all nice, but the recoup roll is the reason people stop and price-check it.

What to check before buying one

There's no confirmed boss-only farm for Sacrosanctum, so trade comparison is the normal route for most players.

1. Check the Recoup roll first.

2. Compare Spirit and Chaos Resistance next.

3. Ignore outdated requirement data when databases disagree.

Runes, Atlas, and the unanswered bits

Runes of Aldur adds Ezomyte remnants, symbol choices, revived monsters, Verisium, Runic Ward, and more than 100 new socketable Runes. That's a lot to test, and not every interaction is known. Sacrosanctum might look tempting for new defensive setups, but there's no reliable proof yet that it has a special upgrade path in the 0.5 Unique system. Same goes for exact recoup stacking with other sources. If you're buying gear, checking builds, or browsing PoE2 Currency for sale, keep one rule in mind: trust current in-game values over old guide text every time.
