PoE 2 Minion Survival Guide with Necromantle | U4GM

Explore Necromantle's minion defenses in Path of Exile 2, including bonus Energy Shield, Chaos Resistance, faster revives, and how to assess its fit for your build.

Many summoners waste Path of Exile 2 Currency by upgrading damage before solving minion deaths. Necromantle matters when a map boss removes a key summon during its first hazard cycle, forcing a replacement cast while personal defenses are strained. Before paying for a higher-damage robe, count seconds lost to missing bodies across five maps. If that downtime repeats, defensive uptime can create more real damage than a small character-sheet increase.

Read the Defensive Package, Not One Mod

The Bone Raiment's roll ranges create two separate decisions. Its +40-60 maximum Life and +30-50 maximum Mana improve the summoner, while minions gain 20-30% of maximum Life as extra maximum Energy Shield, +17-23% Chaos Resistance, and 50% faster revival. A low roll can solve real downtime; paying heavily for perfect values before endgame defenses are stable is poor allocation.

Energy Shield scales from each minion's own Life pool, not your character's Life. A heavily supported frontline minion therefore gains more absolute protection than a lightly invested ranged servant. Compare the same summon at the same level with identical supports; changing a Life support can outweigh the difference between a 20% and 30% roll.

Where Necromantle Changes Real Encounters

Chaos Resistance has a specific target. The 17-23% range helps against chaos pools, ground effects, and boss abilities, but it will not soften a physical slam or fire burst. If a summon dies before its Energy Shield recovers during a two-second hazard window, positioning or a defensive support may matter more than the highest roll.

Revival speed matters most when losses repeat. A 50% faster return reduces the gap after a death, but it does not prevent the first hit or instantly restore every summon. Across ten similar maps, record deaths during boss transitions and rare packs; three repeated interruptions per map justify this slot more than one death in a clean run.

Who Should Spend the Body Armour Slot

Prioritize Necromantle when one missing minion removes a major part of your practical damage or utility. Persistent melee summons and builds that fight through two or more boss phases gain more from recovery than ranged setups that rarely lose a body. The robe is strongest when survival problems are measured, not when its defensive tooltip merely looks impressive.

Do not rush it during early campaign gearing. In the first endgame maps, reserve currency for the 75% elemental resistance target, reliable minion levels, and the weapon or focus fixing your damage bottleneck. A robe that adds 30% Energy Shield still disappoints if the minion lacks enough Life to create a meaningful base.

Use it when key minions die during repeated boss phases.
Skip premium rolls while personal resistances or minion levels remain incomplete.

Test the Upgrade Before You Commit

Run the same map tier with the same summon count, support gems, and skill rotation. Record deaths, revival gaps, and the boss phase reached before each loss. Repeat with Necromantle and compare damage uptime rather than clear speed alone; a slower first pack can still be worthwhile if the robe prevents a 20-second recovery spiral.

Keep the item if it reduces repeated downtime without creating a personal defense hole. Postpone the swap if minions already survive ten-map samples and the price in POE 2 Orbs buys only marginal gains, then test the result in the same map tier and boss phase.
