Tradable With All The Recent Upgrade To Clue Scrolls

Alright, therefore, for ages now, I've head that RuneScape gold stab weapons are far superior to any other weapons when fighting dragons. Even though plate armour has reduced crush defence, also dragonhide has reduced slash defence, it would be logical to assume that dragons would have similar strengths/weaknesses, but I am always told that stabbing weapons are much superior agains all dragons.

There are only two great (or 1 half decent, and one good) stab weapons I could think of: the zamorakian spear and the chaotic rapier. Though, I am too bad to acquire the levels to get super antifires, and I do not have sufficient time to receive a busy weapon, so I can not test it myself. So, my question is, why are traumatic weapons really THAT much better than any other weapons? Even much so it'd be better to give up 20+ slash attack to get a Z spear when battling dragons? I'd enjoy it if you've compared slash/stab weapons , since this has been bugging me for quite some time.
