It all boils to one previous Jagex employees: David Osborne, otherwise known to the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.
Osborne recently revealed on LinkedIn that he's leaving Jagex after fifteen years of content editing along with narrative design and lead design. It was a decision he made, as he describes, to "test [his] experience within the field." Osborne is leaving Jagex and will immediately join Square Enix on the publishing side as a Senior Designer. He'll be overseeing "some fantastic games," starting with Outriders.
This reveal led Redditor FatNWackyRS to reach out to r/Outriders with a simple message on Mod Osborne and his reputation, describing him as the "warm and friendly "Dad" face at Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything Mod Osborne has contributed to the community over his career runescape 07 gold, including a few clips, like appearing as Mod Elfborne to help promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) or joining livestreams and contributing to Jagex's mission.
