Blizzard revealed the new release for the game's loved

Blizzard revealed the new release for the game's loved 2008 expansion in an event livestreamed, during which it also unveiled the latest expansion for the current Version of WoW, Dragonflight. There was no specific release date other than a date in 2022 was revealed to Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

The number of WoW players registering for the game reached its highest in Wrath of the Lich King in 2009, and it's not a surprise that Blizzard will want to bring back this loved expansion after the successes of re-releases for WoW's original edition of WoW in 2019 and the initial expansion The Burning Crusade, in 2021. In light of Burning Crusade Classic currently nearing the close of its content cycle and the brand new Dragonflight expansion set to release until 2023 and 2023, the idea of having Wrath of the Lich King Classic be released later in the year to make up for that gap is perfectly logical.
